What kind of files are you listening to? [What extension] Are they
streamed through the internet?
The only time this happens to me is when the server that is serving the
audio stream is crappy. This should not happen with files that are stored
locally.

Subject: [ECS] Dropouts in Windows Media Player
Anyone have any idea how to avoid the repeated/obnoxious/persistent
dropouts when playing audio archives thru WMP ?
If I lower the buffer size, it just drops out more often.
If I increase it, it happens less often, but takes longer
to "recover".
Checking/unchecking "UDP" has no positive effect.
It SEEMS that this program is NOT buffering in the background
(i.e. it gets a buffer, plays it, then gets another).
I've done an EXTENSIVE web search on this topic and have
turned up nothing (no one else seems to be having this problem).
I am using the latest rev for Win95 (6.4).
Perhaps I could play these files via ANOTHER pgm ?
Tanx,
