I'm not sure if this will help your situation, but I would recommend the following modification to anyone who has the TW523. I did it to my TW523, and it makes a big difference. Before the hack, there was a very noticible 3-5 second delay between commands. Now the delay is no more than a second. Disregard the 110v to 220v at the top of the page. Start at "Modification to improve reliability" http://www.geocities.com/ido_bartana/modifying_power_line_interface.htm You can also read more about it on this thread: http://x71.deja.com/=km/viewthread.xp?mhitnum=15&AN=584620831.1&frpage=threa dmsg_ct.xp&recnum=%3c881gi2$rh@news.or.intel.com%3e%231/1&back=comp.home.aut omation (It's a long one, so you might need to manually cut and paste it into your browser as opposed to clicking on it... Good luck! -=A.J. -----Original Message----- From: Stephen Weiss [mailto:seweiss@fast.net] Sent: Friday, September 29, 2000 3:09 PM To: ecs-list@netbloc.com Subject: RE: [ECS] X-10 communication help... A.J. I actually did e-mail ADI, and they told me that the in-wall transmitters transmit the extended X-10 signals that the TW523 won't forward onto the Ocelot or any other controller. What confuses me about this is that the in-line modules that I have work fine, so I don't see what the extended X-10 has to do with anything, and to me the TW523 should pick these up. The TW523 is supposed to be two-way, is it not? Also, I did joing the mailing list prior to receiving your e-mail. Thanks for the suggestion. I wanted to try out the C-Max software just to make sure things were working, but I ran across this issue. I plan to move onto ECS, if I can (or even can't) get a worthwhile answer to this.
