Subject: From: Date: | IR Expansion/distribution... Stephen Weiss Tue, 10 Oct 2000 07:31:17 -0400 |
All,
I am in search of a product that will allow me to hard-wire IR
expansion/distribution via existing home-run phone lines. Note
that I'm not looking to use phone lines that are already being
used by my phone; I want to use additional lines that I already
have installed in phone outlets. In other words, I have two phone
jacks at all phone locations and I want to use the second,
unused lines to carry IR signals.
Elan use to make such a product, but I can't find it anywhere.
They even supplied the 1/8" stereo plug to RJ11 cable.
I wouldn't mind other suggestions in IR distribution as well.
I know about the Powermids, but don't know if they would
impart any delay while they transmit the signal to one another.
Does anybody use these? Are they worthwhile? What other
products are being used to distribute IR signals around the
home?
Thanks in advance,
Stephen Weiss
