Nope.  I meant that I gave up trying to learn ECS and told myself 
I would just write some code to do exactly what I wanted without
all the other features, but, as I also stated, over a year later and I
still haven't done anything and that's why I'm back to looking at
ECS.
Thank you everybody for the other comments as well, I have decided to give
ECS another try.
