RE: [ECS] Urgent help needed

Hi All,

I too am concerned about the modem issue.

I have had problems with different versions of ECS and recording phone
messages. Currently when a caller calls and leaves a very short message no
message is recorded at all. It has to be a long message for ECS to catch
it. (5 seconds or more) I have also had problems with the recent version of
ECS 4.4.010. I have two versions of ECS on my HA machine: 4.4.010 and
4.3.003. Version 4.3.003 works fine. When I use the EXACT same phone event
(The default event from ECS.CFG) with the new version the recording of any
phone message is so quiet and distorted that when played back you can't hear
it and when turned up it sounds horrible (The same modem too). I have been
forced to stick with version 4.3.003

I have to vent some frustration here too. What happens when all these
Rockwell Modems are gone? I have a 14.4 Zoom modem and if that dies I don't
know what to do. I was at a computer show just this past weekend and they
had some zoom modems with LUCENT chipsets? Do these work?

In my opinion the Rockwell chipset modem issue and telephony capabilities in
general of ECS are its largest problems. Way before anything new coming down
the line. I am not saying an expensive Dialogic solution is the way to go
but something reliable is needed here. ECS users depend on it.

Sorry about being a little harsh..... - I still love ECS and always will.

Kevin

Yup. Even had two different motherboards in that system...

Have you tried re-seating the card,
or better yet, trying a diff slot ?
