RE: [ECS] Voice modem hassles

I have done this type of thing on numerous occasions. It works and sounds
okay but may only be a temporary solution for only some voice modems.

Not all modems have outputs or even Microphone inputs. For example the
Creative PhoneBlaster (PCI) relies on the sound card or a phone handset for
recording and has no output jack (again, compatible PhoneBlaster software
uses the sound card - I don't know how though). I may be wrong about this
but I would venture to guess that many of the newer phone modems are going
to follow suit- communicating directly with the sound card.

Do all voice modems have speaker outputs?

Please think on this:
I could possibly support an option, whereby ECS
could record phone messages with the SOUND-CARD
(whereby the modem speaker output would be fed directly
into the mike input, or the modem speaker would be placed
near the mike).
This might be an effective solution, given that most
(if not all) problems are related to recording.
