Subject: From: Date: | RE: [ECS] Voice modem hassles joerut.epix.net Fri, 17 Nov 2000 18:30:20 -0500 |
Hello
I am still convinced the way to go is a dedicated phone card such
as the Dialogic. I realize it is a bit expensive but since I LOST
some functionallity by upgrading from ECS DOS to Windows I have
had a hard time convincing the wife that the $2000.00 computer
answering the phone is better than the $30.00 answering machine.
With the old system I actually had macros set up for my wife and
children to use VIA the phone. Since the switch to Windows I have
been trying everything to try to create a way to do a SIMPLE local
phone session with little success. Its either too complicated or
unreliable. I myself would not mind paying the $ if the phone
system was reliable. Heck I spent over $700.00 to know the
weather outside. I think the PHONE interface is probably the most
often used and relied on interface of ECS and I think (In my
opinion) that we should find a company that has its focus on
TELEPHONE products and has a good reputation in the market.
