Ok now for my .02 worth. I'm a firm believer that you get
what you pay for! I would for one much rather pay now for additional
hardware/software enhancements with more features even if this cost more
than what I had originally paid for the software. I have over the years
invested a considerable amount and I'm very proud to show Off ECS.
With this said whichever path is chosen I would like to be able to use
local functions through the phone. This is something I have always wanted.
Currently I find the phone function to work adequately with the exception
noted above and the fact that it does sometimes record 60 seconds worth of
dial tone after someone has hung up without leaving a message. In my
opinion if this could be addressed then I would be a very happy person.

sounds like 2 ideas coming through:

1-enhance/repair existing zoom modem approach to work reliably with few
options on many modems. I think this one is a home automation piece and part
of the default ECS.

2-select new hardware/software combination to provide a sophisticated multi
line full feature add on. This is a more advanced home business solution and
should be a charged for option. perhaps a second password in ecs that turns
it on.
