Maybe it is already obvious to you Don, but you would then type (at ecs
directory prompt) COMIO {p} and return.  Then every keystroke will be
sent to the modem and replies will be seen.

Don, you can use COMIO to talk to the modem:
1) Start a DOS session.
2) Enter "SET COM{p}={i}{aaa}", where {p} is the port #,
   {i} is the IRQ, & {aaa} is the base address
   (e.g. SET COM1=43F8).
   This is not needed if the port is already at the "standard"
   IRQ/address.
3) When entering commands, note that the data is scrolled
   VERTICALLY (you'll know what I mean when you see it).
4) When you are done, you must EXIT the DOS session before
   attempting to use any W95 software with that port.
