Mark, using TAPI sometimes it happens to me something similar: the only
time it gets confused not getting remote party going on-hook is when
they hang too early, that is before the system starts playing a message
or JUST as it has begun.
So it shows you're doing a good work with AT command, almose as good as
TAPI :-))
Seiously, I guess it depends on modems and lines. I had a similar
trouble with two or three modems. Sometimes it's not enough to reset the
modem: but usually I get a TAPI message saying "something went wrong
with the line" and then I shut off the PC and reboot.
Hope it may help.
PS: I dont think it depends on half duplex communication with the modem.
Using TAPI, you are not allowed to play samples unless the modem is
off-hook: so the hook condition is prioritary to playing samples and it
is (should be) reported in any occasion. If it fails, then it's a modem
failure!
