Another interesting device in this class is the Honeywell WebPAD; it
basically does everything the Audrey does, and is wireless to boot! Of
course, it's a lot more expensive (I think $1200?). Check out
http://content.honeywell.com/Home/webpad/webpad.htm . According to TechTV,
this is the first of what will probably be a series of devices using
technology developed by a company called Qubit (http://www.qubit.net).
Kind of neat; not sure it's worth $1200 tho... Let me know when they drop
to $250!

Subject: [ECS] 3com Internet Appliance - Audrey
ECSers,
Although I'm currently having ECS withdrawal until my new house is complete,
I have been studying the prospect of what to install.
Has anyone seen "Audrey", 3coms new internet appliance? It's small, it has a
built in browser, and can connect to an ethernet network without using a
preselected service like MSN.
Compaq has a similar machine, but is tied directly to MSN, which I don't
want (I'm planning a cable modem).
I'm looking for something that will work nicely in the kitchen.
Audrey is small, touchscreen or keyboard, and available in several designer
colors :) All for about $600...
