Good point, if you have multiple interfaces, or a dial up PPP adapter, you
will see multiple listings.

Subject: RE: [ECS] Cable modem / no IP address ?
i have a cable modem and use winipcfg every once in a while to give someone
my current IP (it changes very rarely as the machine is always on). i don't
have the output in front of
me to give an exact report, but i seem to remember that winipcfg reports 3
different NIC entries: one that reads 0.0.0.0, one that reflects the
ethernet card that interfaces with the
network within my house and one that reflects the correct information for
the ethernet card that connects to the cable modem. it could be that mark is
parsing the first entry in the
winipcfg.out file and actually needs the 2nd (or possibly 3rd) entry. mark -
i can email you my winipcfg.out when i get home if you are interested.
