Don,
Pull out your Windows 95 CD-ROM and install HyperTerminal. It's not good for
much else (IMHO) but I've been using it watching data get sent out from ECS to
serial port.
It's pretty simple to "dope out"; ask for it to open the com port your modem is
on and set same stop bits, parity, word-length, then you're in business!
