My 2 cents worth: I got a car stereo amplifier and feed the output of my sound card
into it. Then I have speakers behind the air intake vents upstairs and downstairs.
This way they are hidden and you can still hear them well. I like the idea of the
relays, so I may change some stuff. The only thing I dont like is that I have some
hum when the system is not playing anything. I was able to remove most of it by just
buying a better sound card. The ratio is still good. the hum is barely noticeable
when the speakers are up quite a way. I might try a 60 cycle bandpass filter next.
