Thanks for your advice.  Acting on some coaching that I got from Nathan, I
was able to get screen flow control in native Leopard event code working
last night.  Interestingly, it is only a fraction of a second faster at
switching screens than ECS-driven screen switching.  So, I will probably
side with you and keep all of my navigation logic within ECS.  Better to
keep all of my mistakes in one box.
