| Subject: From: Date: | Can't create a new phone item in 4.4.014 Mark Sekelsky Fri, 29 Dec 2000 11:18:24 -0600 |
I have been trying to setup a new phone answer type item in ECS. I have no trouble setting up the two items (phone recording item followed by a phone answer item), however they do not work when I try and execute them via an event, and I receive an error message upon restarting ECS that the item at line 1808 is invalid. My steps, and results, are as follows 1.. Create a phone recording C. item. Let's give this the name like "answer: K and D." 2.. Next I create a phone answer item. I use my recently created phone recording C. item with this phone answer item. I typically name this something like "phone: answer K. D." 3.. Modify my callerid.txt file with the phone number, state, and name for K. and D.. 4.. Add the appropriate lines to my phone event so that when K. and D. calls they receive the message I have recorded for them. I have done this several times. Each time, upon restarting ECS when ECS is parsing the ECS.cfg I get an error message about an invalid item at line 1808. Line 1808 is where my new phone items begin. Other findings: a.. During one of the reboot's I not only removed the new phone items from my configuration file, but I inserted a new text item in at line 1808. ECS accepted this text item just fine, and I was also able to invoke this item from within ECS (set it to "speak"). b.. I edited my callerid.txt file so that when I would call from my cell phone ECS would recognize that number and play the K & D message. When I call the phone rings, ECS announces me as a caller, after the appropriate number of rings ECS picks up the phone, after about one or two seconds ECS then hangs up the phone. No message is ever played. From this point forward ECS will no longer play any of my phone recorded messages for any callers. I am using 4.4.014 (beta), Win 98, Zoom 14.4 modem. I have not done a lot more testing (same issue in last version of ECS, can I create other items, etc.) as the wife and kids are not too happy with all these restarts :) Mark S
