It's my understanding that the Windows settings for modems have no effect
(affect?) on the telephony settings of ECS. In fact, you don't even need to
have the modem installed in Control Panel to use it with ECS.

Subject: [ECS] Modem Settings

For someone with the Zoom 14.4 Modem. Could someone check their settings
that are in Windows, under control panel modem.

I am especially interested in the Advanced Connection Settings. Currently
mine is set to

Use Error Control
Compress data
Use flow control
Hardware
Modulation type = Standard

Also under Connection My settings are:

Wait for dial tone before dialing
Cancel the call if not connected within 60 secs

Also Maximum speed is set to 19200

Checking these settings might help me began to use the telephony settings
of ECS as I currently no longer use them due to problems with the modem.
