Maybe it is not entirely compatible with XP.  I have seen some of this stuff
with other programs.  Have you tried running it under Win98 compatibility
mode?  Or get the updated version of winzip!

Might anyone have an idea as to why my old PKZIP.EXE clips all
file names to their short (DOS) versions when zipping under XP ?
It does NOT do this under WinME.
