When I've trashed my desktop config ( trying to get some old DOS games
playing under WINE ) I was able to reconfigure by getting root at the
command prompt and typing "yast2" ( pretty sure it was all lower case ).
If you're not running X it will give you a text-only version of the most
of the same functionality you get under YaST including configuring
hardware and display settings. I've done this under 9.3 and 10.0.
Hope it helps!

Subject: [ecs] suse help req
using suse desktop cfg menus, i set my screen resolution to an
apparently-unsupported resolution, and now i can't get a display at all
(i expected it to make me click an OK box before permanently setting it
like XP does).
can anyone tell me how to restore my original screen res from the
command prompt ?
thanks
Mark Gilmore
