Just confirmed that old IE on Win2K works a treat. Newer stuff, looks
like the screen is doing some kind of constant refresh, never gets to
finish loading the page. I think that it is a bit worse with this
version, because even simple pages have the problem. Previously, it
seemed to be a bigger issue for fuller pages.

Anybody else seeing this?

I am going to give it a try. My Java has been horrible on remote PCs for
a while now. I used to load up the old Microsoft Java, which usually did
pretty well, but that is getting hard.

With the Sun java, many of my screens won't completely load. And
occasionally, I lose the entire networking stack which means a reboot of
the PC that I am connecting to ECS with.

Plus, the Sun Java is horribly slow.

Mark -

I skipped the last couple of releases. Just loaded 2.3.36 - the improved
Java speed is fantastic, very much improved using FireFox anyhow.

Subject: [ecs] 2.3.36 release

Hi everyone,
ECS 2.3.36 has been uploaded to
http://OmnipotenceSoftware.com/ECS SETUP.EXE (Win) and
http://OmnipotenceSoftware.com/ecs linux.zip (Linux).
Update history follows.
For instructions, please see "Installing Updates" section of manual.
Regards,

Mark Gilmore
http://OmnipotenceSoftware.com

2.3.36

Note: Unless otherwise noted, all updates are performed automatically by
ECS.EXE/REV.EXE.

1) Removed NET-VIDEO.TIMEOUT Property, as it was not needed for video
streams (1 second is *always* a timeout).

2) Increased the speed of JAVA image-updates.
Hence, NET-VIDEO streams can now support the ECS-imposed max of 10
FPS.
The JAVA could support an even higher rate, but I fear that this
would
place too much of a burden on ECS.
WARNING: If you display a NET-VIDEO stream via a *slow Internet*
connection,
you will be eventually disconnected if ECS can't send the images
fast
enough.
I hope to address this problem soon.

3) Added FILE.FIND and WEB-SITE.FIND Property (to find text in the
file).

4) Renamed SERVER-SOCKET.CLIENT-IP to ACTIVE-CLIENT-IP.
If you are using this Class, please send your main.cfg for the
required
updates.
