Subject: From: Date: | ECS 3.5 release notice Mark Gilmore Wed, 10 Jan 2007 14:54:27 -0500 |
Hi everyone,
ECS 3.5 has been uploaded to http://OmnipotenceSoftware.com/ECS_SETUP.EXE (Win)
and http://OmnipotenceSoftware.com/ecs_linux.zip (Linux).
Update history follows below.
For instructions, please see "Installing Updates" section of the help file.
Regards,
Mark Gilmore
http://OmnipotenceSoftware.com
3.5
Note: Unless otherwise noted, all updates are performed automatically
by ECS.EXE/REV.EXE.
1) Added support for the PowerLinc/USB.
Note: If you are using the PowerLinc/USB under LINUX:
ECS accesses the PowerLinc/USB via one of the "hiddev" devices
("/dev/hiddev0", "/dev/hiddev1", etc).
It will probably be assigned to "/dev/hiddev0".
To grant ECS permission to read the device, please login as
"root" and enter "chmod a+r /dev/hiddev0".
2) ECS now logs all changes made by users with a "User change:" preface.
Example:
1/03 14:59:02 Fan: User change:
Password:Owner//127.0.0.1:3760 setting Fan to Off
3) ECS now logs all changes made to Properties which control
**external devices** (like lamps, relays, etc).
These are prefaced with "External change:".
Example:
1/03 14:59:02 Fan: External change:
Password:Owner//127.0.0.1:3760 setting Fan to Off
So if a device is modified unexpectedly, then the log will
*already* show the offending updater
(you will not have to set the Object's .Diagnose Property and
wait for it to happen again).
This will also help ID scripts that are sending devices redundant commands
(which can easily slow down the system).
The file "external_properties.txt" denotes these "external" Properties.
If any such logging is undesired, you may edit this file and
remove any desired Properties.
But make sure to save a backup copy, as it will be ovewritten
when you update.
4) A bug has been corrected which prevented the SUBMIT button from
working when editing Page Objects
(stalled at "Please wait...").
