Subject: From: Date: | ECS 3.7 released Mark Gilmore Thu, 25 Jan 2007 17:15:49 -0500 |
Hi everyone,
ECS 3.7 (& 3.6) has been uploaded to
http://OmnipotenceSoftware.com/ECS_SETUP.EXE (Win)
and http://OmnipotenceSoftware.com/ecs_linux.zip (Linux).
Update history follows below.
For instructions, please see "Installing Updates" section of the help file.
Regards,
Mark Gilmore

3.7
Note: Unless otherwise noted, all updates are performed automatically
by ECS.EXE/REV.EXE.
1) Renamed NOAA-WEATHER Class to "WEATHER"
2) As the format of the NOAA's web pages **varied for different
areas** (leading to parsing difficulties),
I redesigned the WEATHER Class so as to download/parse their
simpler text-only web pages.
All of these pages are in the same format for all areas, and my
parsing logic is intelligent
enough to account for most any future format changes that might occur.
Plus, these pages *all* denote a detailed 7 day forecast (unlike
some of NOAA's graphical pages).
PLEASE EDIT YOUR WEATHER OBJECT AND SET *BOTH* URL PROPERTIES AS
INSTRUCTED IN THE
PROPERTY DESCRIPTIONS TOWARDS THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE.
If you have any difficulty, please send me main.cfg with your zip code.

3.6
1) The NET-VIDEO Class has been renamed to NETCAM.
2) The SWITCHLINC-DIMMER Class has been renamed to INSTEON-BUTTON.
3) The SWITCHLINC-RELAY has been removed, as this module may be
controlled via an APPLIANCELINC Object
and monitored via an INSTEON-BUTTON Object.
If you're using this Class and need help in editing main.cfg,
please email it to me.
4) Images which are only intended for use by applets have been moved
to ./applet_images
(so as to avoid cluttering the Page Add Image menu)
5) Added Font-Height Property to Page elements (so customized .APP
files are no longer required for bigger fonts).
6) Enhanced MESSAGE Class to display messages on the *local* PC via JAVA
(which will *always* be displayed in the foreground).
Note: MESSAGE windows displayed on *remote* PCs are displayed
*within the browser window*
(and so are visible only when the browser is on-screen).
