Subject: From: Date: | Motion detection via the MS10A and W800RF32 (FYI) Mark Gilmore Fri, 10 Aug 2007 17:07:59 -0400 |
Hi all,
fyi:
I just purchased the X10 MS10A motion detector
(http://www.x10.com/products/x10_ms10a.htm).
This unit is designed to be used with the X10 security system console.
But it turns out that:
1) It transmit's it's motion status signals, regardless of
whether it has been "setup" with the console.
2) These signals can be detected by the W800RF32
(http://wgldesigns.com/w800.html) and forwarded to ECS.
So if you have a W800RF32, the MS10A makes a great low-cost detector.
There is a trivial change that must be made to 2 ECS files.
These updated files will be in the next release.
But if you want to try it before then, let me know and I will email
them to you.
Regards,
Mark Gilmore
