I tried it and received an error: 250-mx.google.com at your service, [24.210.213.24] 250-SIZE 28311552 250-8BITMIME 250-STARTTLS 250 ENHANCEDSTATUSCODES AUTH PLAIN 530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first 18sm10635516nzo AG9tbmlrZXkAY2RldjIzMzg= 502 5.5.1 Unrecognized command 18sm10635516nzo AUTH LOGIN b21uaWtleQ== 530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first 18sm10635516nzo Login '<myusrname>' failed: 530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first 18sm10635516nzo QUIT 221 2.0.0 mx.google.com closing connection 18sm10635516nzo Google seems to be completely open to allow it users access their mail accounts from any type of mail client, the details for generic access at the following URL. http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=13287 I have placed and except from this page below. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated. Best regards, Bill Configuring other mail clients You can use the following information to configure POP with many mail clients. To ensure that Gmail can communicate with your mail client, be sure to click Save Changes on the Gmail Forwarding and POP settings page. updated 8/31/2007 Was this information helpful? --------------------------------- Looking for a deal?
