Mark,

I wish I could say I have been using ECS that long but I have only been
happily using ECS for around 7 years now. I also use an older version and
am finding I need more goodies that may take me into the next version.

Two things I really want to see before I jump:

1. Support for the Elk M1G Security system and all its goodies (like
thermostats, etc...)
2. Support for two i/o systems (example: Elk M1G and Applied Digital
Ocelot/Leopard)

I have to re-write the entire system soon anyway to see if I can lower CPU
and memory utilization so it seems it might be a good time to move to the
new version. I am also kinda interested in a 'NIX version; preferably
Fedora Core/Redhat.

Keep up the good work!

Greetings:

Just a brief note to celebrate 15 years of using ECS in our home.

Incredibly, we are still using a Zeos 386 (upgraded later to 486), 40mB
drive, Dos 6.22 with ECS DOS version. AlphaBus, Covox Voice, Vive Caller

ID,

X-10 ActiveHome TW523 controller, driveway alert, announcements via
Panasonic PBX with SMDR, etc.

Runs like a champ.

Mark, you did a great job on this one.

In 2008 I plan to overhaul the system to a current version. Spare parts

are

getting hard to find, and if my Zeos dies, I'll be up a creek with no
paddle, despite having backups.

Reddy
