VNC help needed

Linux PC:
         I enter: /usr/bin/vncserver -name X:1
         Response: New "X:1" desktop is localhost.localdomain:1
Win PC:
         I run VNCViewer and enter "X:1" as "host:display"
         Response: Failed to get server address
I can ping to/from 192.168.1.1 (Win) and 192.168.1.2 (Linux).
What am I doing wrong ?
