VNC/Linux display looks very different from the actual

Hi Mark,

I'm not sure in what respect the display would look different.

But there is at least one difference, in that VNC/Linux creates a second
display completely separate from you the one that you work on at the
console. Essentially, it is as if you had a second keyboard, mouse and
monitor for the same computer.

VNC/Windows, in contrast, shares the same screen. So if you move the
mouse in VNC/Windows, it would move both on your VNC client and on the
server. If you open a window from the VNC client, it would show up on
the Windows desktop, and so on.

So in this respect, VNC/Windows and Linux behave differently, and the
Linux behavior is a bit unexpected.

Is this how the displays are "different?" If not, please let me know,
and I'll see what else may cause this.
