Subject: From: Date: | Linux/Java Frame won't resize Mark Gilmore Sun, 28 Sep 2003 15:46:24 -0700 |

Might anyone know why a Frame.setSize() call fails *sometimes* under Linux ?
I am created a large Frame offscreen, filling it with Labels, and then
shrinking the
Frame to fit around it's contents.
Works perfectly under Win with MS and Suns JRE running I.E. and Mozilla.
Under Linux, it frequently just ignores the call.
And this effort is an attempt to work-around the fact that Lists will not
display scrollbars.
Linux/JAVA is proving to be a brutal environment.
I spent 1-2 days porting ECS, but over a week looking for a stable JAVA/browser
combo and/or coding around JAVA-related problems (with no end in site).
Thanks,
Mark Gilmore
