I may have overestimated the size of X etc. You are right.

Personally, I had been shooting for 128 MB (which I didn't quite make
:-(

I do notice that your list does not include Gnome, KDE or the like.

Friends of mind recently recommended yet another window manager,
Fluxbox, which is supposed to be very small, fast and easy to use.

Even with all that, though, you may well be right, it may fit, after
all.
