Mark,
Try 'top'. If you have it installed it will show you in near real time what
is running and in the order of CPU usage. You have to have a fairly large
screen (lots of lines) so you can see everything. There are a couple of
commands that allow you to filter the output. Once you have top started
(assuming you know the user it will be started under), type 'u' and the name
of the user.
