I could really use some help here:
For some reason, RH9 now freezes up completing the "console" bootup
and displaying the GUI blue screen (the hour glass rotates forever).
I have removed *all* of my changes to /etc/... files (via a Knoppix boot)
to no effect.
When I boot interactively, I note 2 errors:
1) "Starting FreeWnn: Permission denied[FAILED]"
I don't know if this error happened before or not.
As FreeWnn is the Kana-Kanji translation system (which I have *not* modified)
it could very well have been happening from day one.
2) "Start service local: Bad interpreter: No such file or directory."
This looks much more serious.
Any thoughts on what's going on and/or how I may diagnose this ?
If not, is it possible to re-install *only* the RH9 sys files *without* destroying mine ?
Thanks,
Mark Gilmore
