Good news here:
I have just eliminated what I hope were the last problems with Konqueror
(so it *should* work with ECS/Linux).
I think it has a better look/feel than Mozilla (which looks like it's from 
the stone age :-)).
I also think it may be a bit faster.
To try it out:
         Download http://OmnipotenceSoftware.com/ecs_linux.zip
         Start a terminal session and enter the following:
                 cd ecs
                 update.sh

To make ECS start Konqueror at startup (inst of Mozilla):
         Edit linux_browser_startup.sh, and change "mozilla" to "konqueror".

Please let me know how it goes (good or bad).
