Subject: [ecs] shell cmd to determine a file's size ?
I need a shell to determine if XWindows is running.
If I do this:
ps -aux | grep xinit > x.tmp
then x.tmp will contain a line like this *if* X is running:
root 4318 0.0 0.5 2224 756 tty1 S 03:51 0:00 xinit
If not, x.tmp will be empty.
But what shell command would tell me the file's size ?
Thanks,
Mark Gilmore
