ECS was complaining about not being able to open "[hr]" and "[p]" "files"
(these are html tags - i am substituting the gt/lt signs so they will
display in this email).
Turns out that it *was* finding these "files", but could not read them.
This is because no such files "exist".
BUT they *do* (in a way):
If I enter "DIR [P]", Win lists a folder ("owapi"). Nothing new or unique
about it.
If I enter "DIR [HR]", Win lists suse_bashrc (a Suse text shell file).
Nothing new or unusual about it.
A reboot had *no* effect.
Disk scan reports *no* errors.
What in the world ???....
