Mark, I use ECS with Sun's JVM with a fairly extensive setup with no problems. And sometimes I use IE to access ECS using a Pentium 66MHz machine. While it is a little slower, it doesn't have the problems that seem to be having. Nope, I have no explanation. --Rob -----Original Message----- From: Mark Gilmore [mailto:mark@OmnipotenceSoftware.com] Sent: Tuesday, April 20, 2004 6:31 AM To: ecs@netbloc.com Subject: RE: [ecs] MSVM problem Hi Bill, Your judgement that Sun's JAVA "works just as well" is most puzzling (though perhaps promising). I have found it to be EXTREMELY slow (at 2.4 GHZ). When I exit an ECS Page, each applet box closes in sequence (taking 5-10 second to close all). When I press [shift] to display a Property menu in the Script editor, it takes 20-30 seconds to display it. Are you not seeing these problems ? If not, do you have any theories as to why ? btw, I am having the problems on XP *and* Linux, and am using the latest revs of the JRE.
