Hi Ingo,
I have recently read in numerous articles that the agreement allows
MS to supoort the MSVM until 2007.
I would hope that such "support" would include security updates.

The SUN JRE is *hopelessly* slow.
We're talking 20-30 seconds to display a frame with a few thousand menu
entries (MSVM takes 1-2 seconds).
Plus, 2 customers reported problems that implied serious bugs in the SUN
JRE (which disappeared when they installed the MSVM).

Hence, I consider the MSVM to be the only game in town and am highly
recommending it.

By 2007, I would hope that Sun will grease their rusty/broken carriage.
If not, a competitor will step in and remove them from the JAVA scene
altogether
(given the huge demand or a decent Win JRE).

Later...
