Seeing as you just got this release out, I am sure that you have time on
your hands, so...

How about adding a "timer" class to an object. The value would be
expressed in seconds, would decrement by the clock, and, when it changed
to zero, would set the object state to its default state (most likely
"off").

This would eliminate a bunch of timer related code. Today, timers
require a separate and dedicated timer object, and test code for setting
the state when the timer hits zero.

Anyhow, just a thought. You know I am kidding about the time on your
hands part.

Hi everyone,
ECS 2.3.18 has been uploaded to
http://OmnipotenceSoftware.com/ECS SETUP.EXE (Win)
and http://OmnipotenceSoftware.com/ecs linux.zip (Linux).
For instructions, please see "Installing Updates" section of manual.

2.3.18 :
1) Added "Link" Class:
Defines a link (to a web page) for use in ECS Pages.
When defined in a Page, this Object's name will appear in a
"button".
When clicked, the web page will be displayed.

2) Added "Hour-Timer" Class.

3) Enhanced restart procedure such that ECS literally exits and restarts
    (vs an "internal" restart).

4) Renamed Classes as follows:
         Old New
         ------ ------------
         URL HTTP-Request
         HTTP WWW-URL
         HTTP-Image WWW-Image

5) Added support for the display of directories.
E.G. if "http://127.0.0.1:2080/C:\PROGRAM FILES" is entered,
ECS will display all files in C:\PROGRAM FILES.

Regards,

Mark Gilmore
