Carl, I am still using 4.4 (a little later but still legacy) and run for extended periods of time prior to restarting. The only time I ever run into any resource issues is when I have a screen up that has to many items on it. When the machine is doing what it does best (sitting on a shelf with the lights out) I always try and remember to switch to a 'clean' screen. The only reason that comes to recent memory that has caused a restart (ECS only; the OS is very stable) is the web interface sometimes refuses to take any new connections. ECS then has to be stopped an restarted. If I didn't use the web stuff I would venture to guess it would run at least a couple of months before having to be touched for any reason... Do you have any other software on your ECS machine? Is the OS up to date with regards to patches and such? Hope this helps...
