Hi Rick,
A fully-operational 2-week eval copy is at http://OmnipotenceSoftware.com.
Here's the lowdown on upgrading:
1) The "new" version of ECS (now some 3 years old) is a total redesign of
the old.
This 2nd-generation "Object-Oriented" design is *much* more powerful,
clean, and easier to work with.
2) There is no way to automatically convert the old cfgs for the new version.
But I *can* convert most of your old Items to Objects if you send your cfg.
You would still need to write the Scripts (formerly "Events").
Scripting is a lot easier, but it *is* different (you'll just have to
unlearn some stuff :-)).
When I converted my Events to Scripts, the line count was cut in half.
3) Sorry, but I no longer offer a discount for ECS-Legacy upgrades.
But I will assist as needed with any questions or problems (of which
there will be many :-)).
The "Complete" version is $340 and the "Lite" version
(X10/sound/speech) is $90.
The download is fully operational for 2 weeks.
I suggest that you play around with it for a while, so as to make sure that
it's worth it to you.
And send questions as you do so (or better yet, call me at 423-745-0026).
Regards,
Mark Gilmore
