Mark,

Having the console appear isn't a big thing. I am only interested in it
because the Ocelot that I'm running now responds very slowly to X-10
triggers. I thought maybe part of the problem was ECS having to write to the
Console.

Anyway, I believe it might involve something that was changed between 2.3.18
and 2.3.19. Prior to 2.3.19, including the debug version that I received
from you, the DOS console always disappeared under Windows 2000 unless I
chose to display it from the systray menu.

a WIN2000 issue would explain it.
i'll try to re-create on my WIN2000 PC, but I don't know if i will be able 
to fix it.
