This you will really like: USB2 hard drives are one of those great
innovations that we get every so often.
I have the same model with a hard drive bay in it - sticks out the
front, but these drives are hot swappable. They are also fast enough to
boot and run the OS.
If you don't have a USB2 PC, get a USB2 add-in card.

Subject: [ecs] FYI (cool gadget !): external usb hard disk enclosure
I just ordered one of these ($32 with shipping):
http://www.dealsonic.com/bytidetousb2.html
This will allow me to use IDE hard disks with*out* having to take apart
the
PC (just as one would use a USB hard disk).
But this way is somewhat cheaper (esp if i ever want to use *multiple*
drives).
