Yes, but a driveway alarm does not do the same thing. I use the Inovonics sensors in my car, my wife's car, my motorcycle, my tankbag, an my wife's purse. I also give them to visiting friends. Thus ECS can determine who is home based on what sensors are here. Thus turning the house on and off and asleep and such. Changing the music. Adjusting the A/C and Heater. Basically, a people sensor to see who is home. A driveway sensor can not do this. Really, I am suprised that others are not using this convenience. My whole automation programing is based on who is home and that is based on these sensors. I am very suprised! Do what you need to do. Like I said, I am still using Legacy as I have too much programing invested into it. thanks for asking at least! Please post what you do, so I can know my future options... dan Mark Gilmore wrote: > hi dan, > i think there are a number of rf driveway sensors available now. > some just sound an alarm, but i think such devices could be easily(?) > re-routed to a digital-input. > one cheap one is at SurplusComputers.com (but it requires batts for the > receiver). > > At 08:24 AM 2/2/2005 -0800, you wrote: > >> I am still using legacy, but would like the option to still move to >> new some day if I found something in it I needed that I can't do in >> legacy.
